Participant Waiver and Release of Liability

By completing and digitally signing this form, I acknowledge and agree:

  1. Assumption of Risk: I understand that participation in remote control (RC) flying involves inherent risks, including personal injury, property damage, or death. I accept full responsibility for my safety and any harm that may result from participation.

  2. Release of Liability: I release and hold harmless the event organizers, Youngstown RC Club, Bronson Family Farm, FTCA, volunteers, property owners, and all affiliates from any claims related to participation in this event.

  3. Compliance with Laws & Safety Rules:

    • I will follow all FTCA safety guidelines and FAA regulations (including TRUST certification and FAA registration for aircraft over 250g).

    • I will operate only within visual line of sight and in compliance with all federal, state (Ohio Revised Code §1533.181), and local laws.

    • I will not fly carelessly, recklessly, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

    • I understand that only certified pilots may operate aircraft over 250g.

    • I will conduct preflight checks and maintain equipment in airworthy condition.

  4. Flight Restrictions:

    • I will maintain a safe distance (25 ft from pilots, 50 ft from spectators) and will not fly over people.

    • FPV flights require a spotter maintaining visual line of sight.

    • I will yield to all manned aircraft and be aware of airspace class and restrictions.

  5. Emergency Response: In the event of a malfunction or safety issue, I will immediately land or divert the aircraft away from people and structures.

  6. Media Release: I authorize event organizers to photograph or record my participation and use the images for promotional purposes.
